Lavender angustifolia 'Hidcote' has gorgeous purple spikes of flowers that compliment the silvery gray foliage nicely. This fragrant herb makes a wonderful border out in the landscape. The flowers are edible and can be used to make soothing teas, or crystallized in sugar for cake decorations. Also used as a spice on meat. Lavender oil is popularly used in soaps, lotions, and potpourris.
