BLUE HOLLY

Ilex 'Berri-Magic Royalty' produces a profusion of red berries from the fall into the winter. Both a female and male plant are planted in the same container to ensure berry production. Female plant is Ilex x meserveae 'Blue Princess' and male is Ilex x meserveae 'Blue Prince'. It makes a beautiful hedge or specimen plant and can tolerate shearing. 

Grows well in average, medium moisture, and well drained soils. Prefers rich acidic soils, but is adaptable to different conditions. Pruning can be done in early spring right before new growth begins to maintain the shape of the plant. Excellent winter hardiness. Plant mainly 'Blue Princess' because it has attractive red berries.
